Lux
Sophia Coppola's mix of escape fantasy and disturbing reality in the Virgin Suicides is enchanting. Lux and Trip's romance create a 1970's Romeo and Juliet.

Triple J
On my summer trip to Australia I was introduced to Aussie radio station Triple J. Introducing me to the likes of Gotye, Boy and Bear, and Angus and Julia Stone. All bands that go under the radar in the UK. It's crazy how this music hasn't been a big hit on the flip side but probably for the better. Keeping the dream alive by streaming it live via http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/ ENJOY
Jeux d'enfants
Jeux d'enfants, or Love me if you dare, is a French film about Sophie (Cotillard) and Julien (Canet) who respectively have been through tough experiences growing up. Yet through these difficult times have each other and of course the phrase 'cap ou pas cap'. They dare each other continuously to do things, which start off innocent but lead to tragedy. The film is typically European, by which I mean has odd twists throughout the storyline, but it is the end that leaves you shocked. However, the love story is stunning and Edith Piaf's 'La Vie en Rose' suits this film to a T. Do watch.
Penny Lane Almost Famous
One of my favourite films is Almost Famous. To start there are many hot 'jesus boys' in the film. Secondly it has an awesome 70's rock soundtrack including Tiny Dancer by Elton John and Paranoid by Black Sabbath. However, it's when Penny Lane meets Russell and River by Joni Mitchell plays in the background. A beautiful scene and song.

Taryn Simon
A Living Man Declared Dead and Other Chapters was produced over a four-year period (2008-11), during which Simon travelled around the world researching and recording bloodlines and their related stories. In each of the eighteen 'chapters' that make up the work, the external forces of territory, power, circumstance or religion collide with the internal forces of psychological and physical inheritance. The subjects documented by Simon include feuding families in Brazil, victims of genocide in Bosnia, the body double of Saddam Hussein's son Uday, and the living dead in India. Her collection is at once cohesive and arbitrary, mapping the relationships among chance, blood, and other components of fate - Taryn Simon on exhibition at the Tate Modern London now
clements poesy
"I've often been told that I'm a bit strange. I hear that pretty regularly, but it is not how I see myself. I feel like I'm extremely normal. I do have a bizarre face that's a bit out of proportion. I guess that's why some people see me as strange."

If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there would be peace.
